MEFSCO taps Adil Benjelloun to lead growth across the Gulf & Africa

MEFSCO (Middle East Food Solutions Company), a key player in food ingredients and corn-based solutions, has announced the appointment of Adil Benjelloun as its new Vice President. A Moroccan agribusiness leader, Benjelloun brings a strong track record of driving market expansion and strategic growth, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. His appointment signals MEFSCO’s ambition to strengthen its leadership in these high-potential regions.

An African Executive at the Forefront of Global Agribusiness
With nearly two decades of experience in the food ingredients and B2B agribusiness sectors, Benjelloun has built an international career spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Before joining MEFSCO, he served as Sales Director for the Food Division of the German multinational Döhler, where he led operations across the Gulf region from Dubai. He later joined Blendhub, a Spanish company specializing in food powder solutions, as Regional Director for the Middle East, further expanding his influence in the industry.

As a proud Moroccan and African executive, Benjelloun has long been an advocate for Africa’s agribusiness potential. His expertise in strategic market development and B2B solutions positions him as a key player in enhancing food security and sustainable ingredient sourcing across the continent.

At MEFSCO, he will focus on reinforcing the company’s position in the Middle East while also accelerating its growth across Africa and Asia—two regions with rapidly evolving food industries.

MEFSCO: A Strategic Partner for Africa’s Food Industry
MEFSCO is a joint venture between Cargill, the U.S.-based agribusiness giant, and ARASCO, a leading Saudi food company. Headquartered in Riyadh, MEFSCO specializes in the production of glucose, fructose, maltose syrups, starch, and other corn-based food solutions. These ingredients are essential to the beverage, dairy, bakery, confectionery, and processed food industries, serving a broad customer base across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

Beyond sweeteners, MEFSCO’s portfolio includes functional corn-based derivatives such as gluten, fibers, and proteins, which contribute to the rise of nutritional food solutions. As African consumers increasingly seek healthier and more sustainable food options, MEFSCO is well-positioned to support the continent’s food transformation efforts.

Expanding into Africa: Innovation and Sustainable Growth
Benjelloun’s appointment aligns with MEFSCO’s long-term vision for Africa, where the demand for high-quality food ingredients continues to grow. The company aims to strengthen its presence in key African markets, collaborating with local food manufacturers to drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in food production.

With a focus on sustainable sourcing, cutting-edge technology, and customer-centric solutions, MEFSCO is committed to shaping the future of Africa’s food and beverage industry while supporting the continent’s agro-industrial development
