Maersk aims for 19 dual-fuel methanol vessels in 2025

By the end of 2025, Maersk aims to have 19 dual-fuel methanol container vessels in operation, marking a significant step toward reducing emissions.

Akey milestone in this journey is the anticipated arrival of the first e-methanol volumes from European Energy’s Kassø facility in Denmark. At the same time, Maersk continues to explore multiple fuel pathways to support a sustainable future. This year, Maersk is also advocating for global regulations through the International Maritime Organization to address the price gap between fossil fuels and emission-reducing alternatives.

Collaboration remains at the heart of our efforts, as we work closely with regulators, industry peers, and customers to overcome challenges and accelerate the energy transition
